Originally from New York City, I studied Theater and Cinema at Rutgers University. After starting my career in theater and TV in NYC, I relocated to work for over 20 years in Los Angeles and have 100+ acting credits in TV, film, commercials and print. As a filmmaker, I have won a dozen festival awards and written, directed, produced and edited countless projects from feature films, shorts, web series, commercials, branded content and docu-series. I moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2020 where I can be found teaching with my Acting Studio The Hollywood Actor Lab. Australian TV work immediately took off with 4 guest starring roles on NBC TV’s new shows ‘La Brea’ as Dr. Peter Shen, ‘Joe Exotic’ as Melvin, as Chad on the Aussie TV comedy ‘Fisk’, and recurring in season 2 of ‘Young Rock’ as FBI Agent Fong. James recently shot 2 national commercials in Australia and will be shooting a new upcoming Netflix series in 2024.
